Route Details

We’re back to the old route! Line up floats line up along 9th Avenue West and turn left onto 6th Street East to start the route. At Maple Road, the route turns left until taking a right at 5th Street West. The parade continues along 5th Street West until 1st Avenue West (Main Street) until the KFC/Police detachment intersection.

Float Rules

1. Only fully decorated floats and vehicles are permitted. This does not pertain to farm implements, vintage vehicles, or dignitary vehicles. Entrants must make their own arrangements for flat beds, trucks, drivers, etc.
2. If your parade entry includes livestock or horses, line up in the field beside the hospital.
3. All entrants must be ready in line up by 2:00pm on parade day. Parade line up happens at the top of the hill just past the hospital. The order of parade line up will be staked out at the lineup location. Park beside your stake.
4. Judging occurs prior to parade, at 2pm. Prizes will be awarded to the Best Horse Entry, Best Individual Entry, Best Community Group Entry, Best Business Entry, Best use of theme, Most Unique Entry, and Best Float (one top prize will be given to best overall float)

Ensuring Safety

1. Want to distribute items? This is acceptable but must be done by a person walking alongside your float or vehicle. Please be aware that you are responsible and liable for safety control if you choose to distribute candy and/or other articles from your float.
2. Alcohol is not permitted on the floats during the parade, during set up or while the parade is in motion. Intoxicated participants will not be permitted to participate or ride.
3. To ensure safety, a travelling space of 20 feet between floats must be maintained while the parade is in motion. You are responsible to ensure this distance.
4. All entries must complete the route as indicated.

This event will involve moving vehicles, animals, and livestock. The Nipawin Exhibition Association coordinates and monitors the event, however attending the parade as either an entrant or a spectator is expressly at your own risk. You are responsible for any insurance coverage and liability for your involvement in this event..
